Student Conduct


A well behaved student body is required if meaningful effective instruction is to take place in the classroom. Students are expected to conduct themselves in an acceptable manner at all times, and are required to show proper respect for the faculty, staff, visitors, and fellow students at all times.

All students in Montgomery County Public Schools are subject to the Code of Student Behavior. Parents will receive a booklet explaining the offenses and consequences of the Code of Conduct. Please read and emphasize to your child the contents of the booklet. It is responsibility to sign and return the receipt in the code of conduct book to your child’s teacher. 




It is expected that every teacher will exhaust his/her ladder of consequence within the individual classroom discipline plan before sending a student to the office with a referral under a Group A violation of the Student Code of Behavior. When it becomes necessary to refer the student to the office for more serve consequences the administrator will use a variety of consequences, such as the following:

· Administrator counseling of student

· Referral to counselor

· Parental conference by phone

· Required parental conference with administrator

· Parent request to attend school with student

· Suspension from school

· Office referrals based on Group B and

· Group C violations will be handled in

· Office referrals based on Group B and Group C will be handled in accordance with the Code of Student Behavior.
